tZERO Expands Platform to Support Cryptocurrencies Alongside Security Tokens

tZERO Group, Inc., a blockchain-powered multi-asset infrastructure provider, announced it can now support cryptocurrencies through its digital assets securities brokerage platform. The company stated that artificial restrictions preventing its non-security crypto asset business have been lifted, allowing expansion into this market. This development follows tZERO's recent capability to support user self-custody and on-chain settlement via self-hosted wallets on its regulated tokenized asset trading platform.

By combining self-custody support with the new ability to handle non-security crypto assets, tZERO aims to bridge regulated markets and the decentralized finance ecosystem. The company operates under standards for broker-dealer possession of digital asset securities set forth in SEC guidance. As a pioneer in broker-dealer digital asset securities custody services, tZERO has built institutional-grade infrastructure for secure, on-chain digital asset custody.

"Operational, technological and regulatory distinctions among financial asset types are vestigial. The future is singular. Tokenization has the potential to unite all financial experiences - all of our economy - under one rubric," said Alan Konevsky, Chief Executive Officer of tZERO. "Operating this infrastructure under one regulated roof is the ultimate goal and a significant efficiency that's hard to replicate by other market participants."

Konevsky noted that tZERO's broker-dealer subsidiaries have spent years operating at the intersection of traditional finance and blockchain-based assets, giving them an advantage as they expand into crypto issuance, trading, and custody. tZERO Digital plans to launch non-security crypto asset deposits in early Q2 2026, which can fund securities transactions on the platform, with additional non-security crypto asset services to follow. The company's operations were designed to meet rigorous standards, and more information about tZERO Digital Asset Securities may be found on FINRA's BrokerCheck.

This expansion represents a significant step toward what tZERO describes as "unified tokenized markets" where all asset types converge on blockchain infrastructure. The company positions this move as a natural evolution of its existing capabilities at the intersection of traditional finance and blockchain technology.
